The PESEL number enables easy identification of the individual who possesses it. It is required in various official matters such as marriage, legal cases, inheritance matters, commencing employment based on an employment contract, or accessing medical care services.
There are two ways to obtain a PESEL number: by submitting the appropriate application or by registering residence in the territory of the Republic of Poland for a period longer than 30 days.
